Color and comfortFirst, the look: these are GORGEOUS - I got the burgundy color which is more of a purple tinged burgundy than it appears on my computer monitor - color looks MUCH RICHER in person. I disagree with another review I saw which said the toe looks very long - in my opinion it looks just like a pointy toe ballet flat, and I wear a size 10 so I'm always conscious of how large shoes can look, especially flats with pointed toes. Actually, it looks slightly LESS long than my Sam Edelman Reyanne's, so if you were hesitating about buying these because of the long-looking toe, skip the hesitation and order them to make your own decision.Regarding fit and comfort: as many people do, I have one foot larger than the other. So I expect two different fits from my shoes, and these fit perfectly if you take that into account. The right shoe - comfortable immediately, could be worn all day. The left shoe - onto the shoe stretcher (all my ballet flats have the left shoe go onto a shoe stretcher before I can wear them comfortably so this is not a big deal). This shoe is cut higher on the sides than some others I have, and will provide a bit more support because of that. It might even stay on my foot without a tendency to flap around as ballet shoes do sometimes.Quality - the exterior suede is Frye quality - deep, richly colored suede, not the flatter nu-buck-ish look. They look rich. I'm not sure the insides are leather and, if they are, they're thinner than they could be. The padding on the bottom of the foot bed is fine, it's the sock liner that's thin. I won't know how it lasts till I've worn them for a while, and it's just too hot to do that for a while. All in all, these are a keeper because I expect they'll grow to be really comfy, the color is super, and the price I got them for cannot be beat. They are lovely shoes and go with everything.I'm a true size 7 and I sized up to 7.5 in this shoe as I do normally with Frye and it worked perfectly, the shoes fit very well. I've been wearing them for a few days at work and I've noticed that the inside liner is not breathable so your foot sweats and as it does it makes noise when you walk. I recommend baby powder to help with this. They are very attractive shoes, not too long of a point and very easy and comfortable to walk in. I have noticed a bit of blistering around the side of the balls of my feet, where the top/side of the shoe meets my foot before the toes, I put on a bandaid and that is helping, I guess it may take a few days to break them in. They show a tiny bit of toe cleavage which is really cute. I like them a lot, but I'm not sure I think they're worth as much as they cost without being on sale...My true shoe size is 8EEE. If I have to, I will purchase 8.5 M and stretch them before wearing. The color of this nicely pointed flat is a deep navy which is perfect for work. The quality of the shoe matches it's price. I was concerned that the sole was not leather because it is not stamped to indicate it is leather. After wearing the shoe and seeing the sole it does appear to be leather with the rubber insert. In terms of width, I did not need to use my shoe stretcher before wearing. That's rare for me. The length is such that my heel slips slightly. I keep a stock of heel pads for such situations. Once I insert them I'm confident the shoe will fit perfectly. I would buy this shoe again.I have several pairs of Frye flats. These seem to run smaller than other styles and small generally. More specifically: the Regina style runs at least a full size large and the Carson is roomy— maybe 1/2 size large. I’m always an 8.5 in shoes, but these are definitely very snug in the toes (my toes look and feel squeezed into the pointy end); however, I kept them because experience tells me size 9 shoes never work for me and also they aren’t uncomfortable — just tight. Too, I expect them to stretch out after a while. As for the look: these are just black flats: nothing spectacular. I appreciate that they are made of leather inside and out, but I have had nicer looking black flats in other brands. Compared to other Frye flats: the Carson style with the round toe is a bit cuter, albeit more casual. Overall these are acceptable/ functional.Beautiful tan flats! Great quality. You will need to break them in before long wear as initially they will give you heel blisters but now they are very comfortable. I know they will last a long time.I generally really like Frye shoes and boots, but sadly had to return these. The toe box is incredibly tight and the back of the shoe digs into the top of the heel. That may be a wear-in issue, but the toe box sadly is not. The main reason to return is that the “Smoke” color is definitely more of a brown. I read the reviews and saw a few who said this but others did not. There is most definitely a brown tint that would not work if you were pairing with an outfit for a black or grey shoe.Love every pair of shoes I buy from FryeHad to go up half a size but love the shoe.
