I ordered these in 8.5. Normally for slide on shoes (i.e. no socks) I go with 8.5 and for shoes with socks, 9. Previously, the Frye Tegan Ballets that I received in 8.5 were too big front to back, but a bit too narrow side to side. For these, even after reading reviews, I assumed Frye had consistent sizing, which clearly they do not: the 8.5 were too small primarily across the top (due to the narrowness), but also a bit front to back. After returning and receiving the 9's, I can say that they're still snug on top right below my big toe. This isn't a scraping the skin off my foot type rub, but a rub that is a bit uncomfortable and seems likely to release a bit with stretch. These shoes are completely leather, after all. Even the sole! Also, note that they have no traction and would be awful in an area with lots of rain.Frye seems to have one thing down: making cute shoes. What they don't have down is making shoes that have reasonable width. Though they stretch, the narrowness of some of their flats makes a slightly wider foot look a bit odd. The toe of the shoe being narrow adds to this effect.I do love these flats. I wish they had a bit more traction and were actually made in the U.S. since that's what they promote on their box and the little booklet in the box. I'm not sure I'd purchase them again for $158 + tax though. Perhaps if they were more in the $70-80 range I'd feel as though I was being charged a fair price.Love these! The color is perfect, the quality is wonderful, fit true to size…I’m always a 9.5 in Frye, boots or apparently flats now, too. Took off one star because it took weeks for them to arrive, and because I wish they had at least a little arch support. But quality leather shoes, leather stitched soles…and I got them deeply discounted from Amazon. ?I didn't want to rate these poorly because the shoe is nice, but it was really big. I have another pair of these shoes by Frye, a size 9, and they fit great. Ordered these in an 8.5 because in that size and color combo the price was too good to pass up. I figured I'd squeeze in them for the good deal. But they were so big! Fit more like a 9.5. They were so loose they were falling off my heels when I walked. I wanted to keep them but they are just too big. Very strange. Also, the color is "lilac" but they are very neutral/tannish. Have to return them.I'm a Frye bag fan, and I love their boots, but I usually buy Born when it comes to the ballet slippers. These are a strong contender, though the leather isn't as soft as the Borns. I love the color. the fit, i hope is as good as Born after being worn in a bit. They do get slippy on certain floors because they only have a partial-grip rubber bottom, while the rest is smooth.I LOVE the shoes for the look and style. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because of the price, although I signed up for it.I wish it were less expensive :( Also, I originally ordered the 6.5 and it ran a bit tight for me. All of my shoes from all sorts of brands have fit perfectly being a 6.5 . So, I exchanged it for a 7, and it is slightly big on me, where it's a little loose, but at least not uncomfortably tight for me to step into.Because I love the shoes so much for the look, color, and style- if they perfected the fit, and offered a discount, where it was slightly less than $100 at least (as it is in its other colors)- I would absolutely buy another pair!I bought a pair of these in the same color at a retailer in Colorado while visiting my daughter in August 2015. I generally wear a 6 1/2, but need a 7 in these. Very stiff at first like good old fashioned leather shoes should be, but once you break them in, they are the best shoes on the planet. I have a small calcification at the base of my big right toe on the instep side of my foot, which has prevented me from wearing ballet-type shoes for many years. Not a problem any more once these are broken in. I was very happy to see the excellent price here on Amazon specifically in the color I wanted - charcoal antique. They go with just about everything. I wore a hole in the sole from living in them, particularly from walking back and forth from work to my car - working on the waterfront in a tourist town with no good parking nearby, thus the need for a replacement pair. Great for earthing. Now my old ones are my perfect leather house shoes!Usually get an 8.5-9 depending on the shoe. I have a little bit of a wider foot. Frye has the sizing just right. I am always able to get an 8.5.Great basic flats, true to size. I ordered “Beige Antique Soft Vintage” color - the Frye box that arrived just said “Beige” on the label, I’m not sure if these are actually 2 different Frye colors, but I was so glad that the pair I received did not have the burnished toe that the stock photo shows. The color is uniform throughout the shoe. Bottom is slick but hello a leather sole is a luxury - just wear them on pavement once and they will get roughed up enough to have traction. This was a Christmas present for my sister (also bought them in violet blue) and she was very pleased with the shoes. I was a bit sceptic when I read the previous comments regarding sizing (my sister is a size 8US in most Frye) but took a chance anyway because the price was really good and it was perfect in the end, size 8US as expected. The quality of the shoes is very nice and the color looked great too. Frye shoes are very expensive here in Europe, so when they go on sale, I always check them out and purchase her size if it's available since it's here favorite brand and I'm always certain she will like the gift :) They fit her size perfectly (38.5/8US) and are, according to her, very confortable.I've heard so many good things about FRYE but these are made in China. One of them has a small peeled patch after 6 months and the sole is cracked on the bottom. Definitely regret buying these. They look fine but man is the quality crap compared to what I expected. Do not buy.Just wanted to leave a review to try to help others with sizing. I wear a 9 in most shoes - aldo, spring, hush puppies, steve madden, etc. Every now and again (usually when buying boots) I fit an 8.5, but then other times I need a 9.5. The 9 fit perfectly so I would say that overall these fit true to size. I almost sized up because of reviews saying they fit small but I am really glad I didn't. They are a tiny bit narrow (but I have wide feet), but honestly, they are a nice, soft leather and I am sure they will break in in no time. Pricey for sure, but really beautiful :)These shoes were a bit intimidating at first. No traction and completely flat. After a few days of wearing, the leather loosened up and they are not as slippery. I find them comfy. I could use a bit more leather around the toes for some more coverage on my feet. I'm not sure how long they will last but I will be wearing them less as we head into cooler temperatures. All in all, I would buy them in other colours for the right price.I love these! I usually fit between size 6 and 6.5 in flats and ordered these in 6 because the leather will stretch a little with wear. They fit perfect in length and a little snug in width so they will be perfect after a couple wears. The coral suede is beautiful and exactly as I hoped it would be.
